David Shall Environment Programme
Harpenden Lions Club has a long history of working with the Town Council to maintain and enhance the local environment. David Shall was a long-time member of our Club and was passionate about caring for the environment. David died in 2025 and in memory of his work we have set up this programme to support our schools in promoting environmental education.
Through our David Shall Environment Programme we offer support to schools to help them rewild and develop areas of their grounds into outdoor learning spaces. These environments enable children and young people to study biodiversity and better understand their responsibilities for maintaining the balance of the natural world.
If you are considering an environmental project such as developing an outdoor learning area, re-wilding an area of your school grounds or any other biodiversity initiative, please contact us and we may be able to help with funding and point you to others who can offer practical help and support with your project.
