Thank you!
On 21st September, we raised £180 for our youth support programme - by selling donated used books, jigsaws, and spectacle cases at the Harpenden Sustainability Market. Thank you.
But the day wasn’t just about fundraising. It was also a chance to promote awareness of our service efforts and to promote awareness of Harpenden Lions Club and the many ways in which we serve our community. Whether you donated, chatted or just picked up a leaflet, thank you for coming to see us.
We hope you also learned something of our key initiatives, including:
Message in a Bottle and Message in a Wallet: simple but potentially life-saving schemes that help emergency services access vital medical information quickly.
Recycling spectacles and hearing aid batteries: part of our commitment to sustainability and supporting those with vision and hearing challenges worldwide.
Supporting young people who wish to be involved in sustainability projects in the community.
We were delighted to see so many people stop by and ask questions - and to show interest in what we do.
We will be back at future markets in the winter, so please come and say hello - or come and see us at the Lions bookshop in the Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead.
If you’d like to learn more about Harpenden Lions Club or get involved, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can keep making a difference—locally and beyond.
