Supporting The Lea Primary School & Nursery playground
Harpenden Lions Club contributed, with others, to fund an all-weather surface to refurbish a playground which had deteriorated badly - too dusty in summer, too muddy in winter. Vision Screening at Roundwood Park Primary School
Our trained club members have previously carried out vision screening in primary schools across Hertfordshire and North London. We were delighted that Roundwood Park Primary School became the first school in Harpenden to participate in the programme. Supporting citizenship at Lea Primary and improving the local environment
Harpenden Lions have been delighted to match the fund-raising efforts of Year 5 at the Lea Primary School – as well as helping to fund the local environment at the school. As part of their citizenship project, the year 5 group have been fundraising for toilet twinning! This initiative, run by Tearfund, a UK-based charity, was established in 2010 in response to the global sanitation crisis. A Heartfelt Evening with Lexie Trim and Her Chemo Bags Project
